The Presidents of the United States of America

It’s been 231 years since George Washington stood on the balcony of the Federal Hall on Wall Street in New York, and took the first oath of office as US President. 44 Presidents have followed him, and the United States has changed a whole lot.

But how much do we know about what they each did before they were inaugurated? How much do we remember what happened during their lives, and their terms serving?

We've explored the Presidency over the history of the United States. Looked at each President's life, their previous jobs, their education, and how long they lived before taking up the job as PoTUS.

We track their parties, the elections, when they were born and when they died (and how).

Plus, we’ve plotted the era-defining moments that happened alongside - wars,  amendments, proclamations, impeachment, and technology advances.

A lot has happened in 231 years.
